VAUGHAN, ONTARIO — September 27th, 2016 — Sunview Patio Doors Ltd. In addition to being a pioneer and undisputed leader in the plastics extrusion industry, Sunview’s chairman and founder, Vic De Zen also has a long history of community involvement and philanthropy. Supporting local causes in his hometown of Woodbridge, Ontario and its surrounding region, Mr. De Zen recently donated $10-million to help build a new and much-needed 350-bed hospital in Vaughan. According to Ingrid Perry, the chief executive officer of the Mackenzie Health Foundation, “The Ontario government has not disclosed the construction cost for the new hospital yet, but will pay the lion’s share of the cost while requiring the community to raise $250-million toward the total. The foundation hopes this exciting announcement and the launch of construction on the building will spur more donations. The hospital’s lobby will be named the Vic De Zen Family Welcome Centre in honour of the donation,” said Ingrid Perry, which is the fundraising body for the new hospital. Mr. De Zen’s legacy contribution is the largest single donation. His generosity will help build the first new hospital in the area in more than 50 years. The opening of the new facility is scheduled for 2020. After leaving Royal Group, Mr. De Zen founded ZZen Group, which includes a large real-estate division that owns industrial, warehouse and commercial space. “Sunview Patio Doors is part of the Vision Group and we’re scheduled to open our 11th manufacturing plant in January – a 340,000-square-foot extrusion facility. Sunview Patio Doors Launches Innovative New Coating Technology

WOODBRIDGE, ONTARIO — December 10th, 2015 — Sunview Patio Doors Ltd. As every window and door manufacturer knows all too well, painting is one of the most intensive and time-consuming steps in the process. To add to the challenge, North American consumers have a steadily increasing appetite for wider colour selection - especially for darker tones that will not fade or distort in extreme climates while maintaining durability. At Sunview Patio Doors, we are always exploring new technology and automation. Earlier this year, we made a significant investment by combining exceptionally engineered technology with a superior patented color coating system to establish a state-of-the-art finishing line to service our customer’s color requirements. We have branded our new solution, the “UV-ToughCoat” process. What makes this technology so impressive? Paint Line Manager, Ben Martin explains: The finish provided by our new coating process is 7x harder than industry standard water-based paints. This greatly reduces the risk of scratching during fabrication, shipping, and handling. It ultimately results in a significantly more resilient product. Our UV-ToughCoat technology also leads to much lower heat absorption. A characteristic that makes our products far more resilient in hot, sunny climates where darker colors can fade, or distort. The vacuum application process creates coverage that’s smooth, dust-free and even. The results are straight, clean lines - without overspray or inclusions! The quality of our new coating is comparable to an automotive finish. Having zero Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) or Harmful Air Pollutants (HAPs), the UV-ToughCoat process is the “greenest” coating option currently available. Finally, there is a significant decrease in processing time as the curing is almost instantaneous. Anybody with paint experience...

Sunview Assists Pino-Lite with Successful 2900 Series Aluminum Door Installations in B.C. High-Rise Condos

WOODBRIDGE, ONTARIO — October 5th, 2015 — Sunview Patio Doors Ltd. — In a good example of cooperation between manufacturer and distributor, Sunview Patio Doors recently assisted Mark Sarich’s Pino-Lite Glass Ltd. in Victoria, B.C. to overcome that province’s strict testing standards to achieve the successful installation of Sunview’s award-winning 2900 series aluminum thermal doors in several 20-storey condo projects in the Victoria region. “British Columbia has the most complicated and stringent testing standards of almost any province,” noted Sarich, who began as a Pino-Lite employee and then purchased the company from its founder and has been expanding it successfully in the region. Sunview’s 2900 Series has been awarded the coveted Zone 2 Energy Star rating due to its superior thermal and structural advantages and its very low .248 U-value and Low-E argon glazing. It is among the only Canadian aluminum patio doors to receive this certification; that’s why Pino-Lite was excited about including this model in their B.C. condo developments. “Energy Star-certified products meet strict technical specifications for energy performance—tested and certified,” noted Natural Resources Canada. “Energy Star certified products are the best energy performers of all makes and models on the mainstream market.” The government agency estimates that typical savings on energy bills are “about 8 percent or more” when all the doors and windows installed are energy efficient Energy Star-certified models. “This can be a rainy climate, as it’s so close to the ocean,” Sarich continued. “It’s a place where the Energy Star rating means a lot. And when the doors are installed higher up, and there is water and rain, the government insists on a very exacting seal, and...
